HORISUZU
Tako no Hebi
2004
Mixed Media
11x14
This is a very untradtional piece in japanese imagery there are many rules that govern the objects which should and should not be placed together. This piece does not follow those rules and it represents a time when i was uninformed about horimono and was doing what many non-japanese artists do, borrowing from imagery i had seen. This should always be worked upon and corrected. As Sensei Ryugen once said "you will be as correct and professional as you choose to be." It's up to the artist to maintain the integrity of the artform.
