Tattoos About Me and My Tattoos Deposits Photography Travels Various Artwork
I have always been grateful to be a professional tattooist. The friendships and experiences, along with the everyday challenges and the constant pursuit of knowledge is what makes the long hours and tireless dedication a trivial matter. One of the greatest benefits of working with artists is the diversity of styles and personalities. Jeremy ' Horisuzu ' Matthews is without a doubt an artist that I am proud to call my friend. He inspires me through his ethics, his art, and his positive outlook on everyday life.
I met Horisuzu during his first visit to Albuquerque, New Mexico while he was doing a guest spot at the tattoo shop where I was tattooing at the time. We hit it off immediately. I liked his positive attitude, and was impressed by his eagerness to expand as an artist. I could tell immediately that tattooing was a way of life for him and that he was serious about educating himself in order to become a well balanced tattooist.
On Horisuzu's second visit to the Duke City, I asked him to tattoo me. He accepted and we agreed on a drawing and set a time. I was very impressed with his routine from beginning to end. His setup is meticulous, his equipment is of the highest quality, and his attitude is of confidence which creates a great atmosphere. I was very happy with the piece that he did and appreciated the experience.
Horisuzu is the type of person that makes you want to be more productive as an artist and a better person in general. He leads by example. Horisuzu is always active, whether it be promoting his art shows, painting, studying the art of tattoo ( primarily traditional Japanese), travelling, and of course tattooing. Horisuzu has studied in Japan, attends conventions, and continues to maintain a busy schedule at his home shop.
I have been inspired by Horisuzu's progression as an artist, as well as an individual and I am honored to have worked with him. I'm always looking forward to many more happy and productive years to come.
